VISAS FOR STUDYING IN AUSTRALIA
Student Visas are designated for full-time courses recognised for international student enrolment, each identified by a CRICOS Code that appears alongside the course title in all visa-related documents. For comprehensive guidelines on obtaining a student visa to study in Australia, please check the Department of Home Affairs website directly.
Please be aware that staff at King’s School of Culinary Arts are legally barred from providing guidance or assistance regarding visa issues.
COST OF LIVING AND ADDITIONAL EXPENSES
The Australian government mandates that international students demonstrate their ability to cover educational and living expenses while in Australia.
You must show your financial capability by providing one of the following:
- Proof of funds for 12 months covering living expenses, tuition, and travel for you and any family members joining you. This includes education costs for school-aged dependants.
- Proof that your spouse or parent is ready to support you with a minimum annual income of AUD 87,856 for single students or AUD 102,500 for students with family. For more details, please check the Department of Home Affairs website.

OVERSEAS STUDENT HEALTH COVER
(OSHC)
You and your family members must be covered by Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) from an approved Australian health insurance provider, unless an ‘Exception’ applies.
You do not need to have OSHC if you are:
- a Norwegian student covered by the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme
- a Swedish student covered by Kammarkollegiet
- a Belgian student covered under the Reciprocal Health Care Agreement with Australia

ACCOMMODATION
King’s School of Culinary Arts doesn’t offer on-campus accommodation, yet it helps new international students find short-term accommodation options. It can also refer students to private companies specialising in arranging long-term accommodation, which might involve a fee.
All payments for accommodation and related services should be transacted directly with the accommodation providers, as the Institute does not handle these payments.

OZiHOUSE Group
OZiHOUSE Group is a one-stop accommodation provider for international students in Australia.
They offer boutique, purpose-built student accommodation across Australia.
OZiHOUSE also provide NEAS quality endorsed homestay programs in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth.
Their services include airport transfers, guardianship for under-18s, and cultural programs.
WORKING WHILE YOU STUDY
People granted student visas will receive permission to work with their visa grant.
Permission to work allows you to work up to 48 hours a fortnight on a casual basis during course time and full-time during vacation periods. Family members can also work up to 48 hours per fortnight throughout the year.
Students and their family members must not undertake work until the student has commenced their course of study in Australia.
